Plus Size Style Box – Subscription Box Programs Available

Plus Size Style BoxMonthly box prescriptions have become very popular. You can get just about any product in a monthly subscription box, from dog food, to men’s shaving essentials, to books, to meals, to beauty supplies, to snack boxes. I was happy to see that there is a wide selection of the plus size style box. I researched what looks like the most popular, and came up with some interesting facts that you should know.

Each plus size style box provider has a different purchasing method. You can rent the clothing or buy it, and in some you can pick the clothing, where others have a stylist that picks for you. Whichever way, the plus size style box looks like a fun way to shop for women’s plus size clothing, and will help you fill your plus size capsule wardrobe.

All the plus size style box providers offer what appears to be higher end clothing. The items offered are a little more expensive than I am used to paying, and I didn’t see any “sales” . However, some would say that the convenience of “shopping at home” makes up for, and becomes worth the price.

Dia& Co

Dia & Co. seems to be the most popular plus size subscription style box right now. They provide sizes from 14 to 32, which covers a wide range of women’s sizes. To get started, you must fill out a profile. You can choose your clothing, or have a stylist choose for you.

Your $20 styling fee gets you the full treatment:

  • A dedicated personal stylist
  • 5 items to try-on at home
  • Free shipping both ways
  • Get $20 off your total purchase
  • Free and unlimited size exchanges
  • 25% off when you buy everything

What is really impressive is the culture and community that Dia & Co. is fostering. They really care about women’s body image and making a woman feel beautiful no matter her size. I really like that about Dia & Co, as it is what I’m trying to promote on this site.

I really liked the videos of customers opening their boxes. In every case, there is the excitement of Christmas morning every time they received their boxes. It looks like a lot of fun!

I really like Dia & Co, and hope to order my first box soon.

Plus Size Style BoxGwynny Bee

Gwynny Bee is more focused on clothing rental than on clothing purchasing. Membership costs $69 per month. They offer sizes from 0 to 32, because they feel that all women should be able to shop together and therefore socialize together. Member benefits consist of the following:

CLOSET CONVENIENCE: Wear it once and exchange or keep it as long as you want.

ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING: Unlimited USPS priority shipping both ways.

UNLIMITED EXCHANGES: Postage-paid envelopes included in every box.

FREE DRY CLEANING: Return it and we’ll take care of the rest.

LOVE IT, KEEP IT: Find an item you have to keep? Buy it right from your at-home closet at a discount off retail price.

I really like the premise of Gwynny Bee, that you can “rent” clothing. You can try before you buy, and that means wear it couple times in different situations. Also, it amounts to buying pre-owned clothing which you get at a discount. So it might be a good deal. But be aware, you are paying the membership, and paying for the clothing you are buying. So, it seems like a lot of money to me. Also, I feel they might be a little more dressy than I am, however, so I’m not sure they are a good fit for me.

Amazon Prime Wardrobe

Amazon Prime Wardrobe is included in your Prime Membership, and here is how it works:

1. Select 2-8 items, choose clothing and accessories from thousands of brands for women, men, and kids

2. Try on at home. Use your 7 day try-on period to find your best style and fit.

3. Check out online, You will only be charged for the items you decide to keep.

4. Enjoy free, easy returns. A resealable box and prepaid label make returns simple

Plus Size Style Box

Sadly, I am unimpressed. Prime wardrobe does not include ALL the clothing available at Amazon, only selected brands that were higher end. And higher end brands can’t get it through their thick skulls that the AVERAGE woman is a size 16-18, which means an 18 should be at the top of their bell curve, rather than out on the fringes, which would make a 4x like me a little more popular than NOT OFFERED AT ALL. So what little they offered had very few items for me to choose. If their program covered all the plus size selections at Amazon, I would be hooked. But they don’t, so I’m not wasting my time.

Stitch Fix Plus

Stitch Fix Plus has a nearly identical program to Dia & Co, but sizes only go up to 3x, which lets me and my bigger girlfriends out. There was one thing that stood out, however, that made Stitch Fix a little different. They don’t require a prescription. You can order boxes per a schedule, or you can just order a random box. That’s nice for someone like me, that doesn’t always have a monthly clothing budget. I would join them, but alas they don’t have my size.

Hello and thank you for reading and commenting.  Ya, I didn’t know if I wanted to try a prescription box until I found the ones tailored to plus size women.  It does really sound fun, and by the videos of people opening their boxes, it was like Christmas!  So yes, I recommend looking into a monthly box that plays into your hobbies or your needs.  Thank you again….RhondaLeigh

  2. Wow thank you for this information – I was not aware there were so many of these clothing programs out there. I knew of 1 or 2 thanks to a “high-style” friend of mine however, I had no idea it had become such a fad. I will definitely check a few of these companies out. Thanks again!
