Thank you for sharing this Rhonda. It must took a lot of courage sharing your everyday life details. My sister is plus size as well and she has special chairs and sitting places as well.

When she travels by the plane, she usually picks the extra leg seats, because sitting in normal seat is not possible for her unfortunatelly.

Hello and thank you for checking out my post.  As I have been sharing my story more and more, I am finding it much easier each time, and am feeling stronger and more self-confident, and I hope to help others feel that confidence as well.

Tell your sister that we heavy girls are out there trying to bring recognition to the issues of fat people.  We are this way through no fault of our own and deserve respect and dignity.  We deserve to live our lives without being shamed for something we can’t help.  Thank you again for your comments!  RhondaLeigh

    Hi Rhonda!

Being big is certainly not something to laugh about. I have been there myself and am still overweight. A lot of people don’t get that you can be big because of health issues or be big because of an addiction to food. Having to stop eating for big people is like an alcoholic trying to stop drinking. It is difficult and is mostly combined with a traumatic event that has happened in life.

I love that you have written about the problems big people have in everyday life and I hope people read your posts and say hey, they have really got a tough life and the next time I see a big person, instead of giving them a nasty look I will help them.

    Have a great day!

Hello Catherine, thank you for visiting my website.  Yes, being fat is difficult, and I don’t know why the fat shamers think we want to stay that way.  I am hoping to plant a seed in a few brains that positive body image is not an excuse to stay fat, but a call for practicality and civility and consideration of others.  Thanks again for reading and commenting!  RhondaLeigh

I have read a lot about fat-shaming and though i never will be able to fully understand what it is like to be plus-size of to be fat-shamed I commend your blog posts a lot. This takes courage in itself to write. I have plenty of friends who I have experienced second hand get fat-shamed and its repulsive to watch happen. Thank you for these posts.

Ian, thank you so much for your comments.  Fat shaming is one of the very few “acceptable” forms of bullying and discrimination, and I truly believe that people don’t even realize they are doing it.  I am hoping to bring awareness and hopefully change a few minds on this subject, and help people recognize and change their behavior.  Thank you for your comments, and I wish you well!  RhondaLeigh
