Many thanks to you for sharing such an excellent article with us .Plus size fashion is not Mistakes .I keep a running list of everything I need in my capsule wardrobes .Clothing items and thousands of other clothing items .I like black very much and feel amazing in black I wear it to my little heart’s content .I can keep clothes in small size .Shoes problem was one of my biggest problems before the capsule wardrobe epiphany but not currently .I always make my own decisions for my own style and I think my style may be wrong at first but I have tried to correct that mistake and I have always been able to present myself as myself and I hope you do. Through this article, everyone will find their self-esteem and can carve their own fashion very nicely .I would definitely appreciate you for such a wonderful article .

Hello Shanta, thank you so much for stopping by my website and taking the time to comment.  Yes, I think it’s time that we all just wear what we want without wondering if we are making a fashion mistake or not.  And you are certainly correct, it’s about finding your self-esteem, and wearing what you love and feeling comfortable in it.  Thanks again for reading and commenting!  RhondaLeigh

I have to disagree with Susie as well. I live in NYC and we wear black all the time even summer. The majority of clothings in my closet are black for sure and I love them. I actually like baggy clothes as well they are comfortable and I do not have to be aware if my muffin top will show or my butt crack.

lol I agree, yes we are not a fruit! I hate it when they compare us to fruits. Also I am never a big fan of accessories. Only if I go out on a nice dinner then yes. I will only focus on my earrings and that was it. Thank you for sharing your opinion and I agree with you! Susie is out there to just make her money.

Hi Nuttanee, I really appreciate your comments.  I am glad you laughed at my fruit reference.  And yea, where does Susie get off saying that we should not wear baggy clothing?  Do a Google Images search on baggie style, and you will see it’s all over the place, and everyone, from the tall to the small is wearing it, and rocking it, I might add!  Once again, comfort is the number one rule!  I liked what you said about your muffin top or your butt crack showing.  I like baggy style because I don’t feel self-conscious in it.  I can do my thing and not worry if I’m showing too much of my disagreeable parts.  Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks for adding your thoughts.  RhondaLeigh

  3. Hi Moreno

Hi RhondaLeigh, I just want to say you make some great points – whether you are plus size or not!  I love your whole attitude of just getting out there and trying things and being open to new possibilities.    Very inspiring.

By the way, you also take a great photo – I can feel your enthusiasm and love for what you are doing bursting from your photos.

    Great post.  Thanks for sharing.

Hello and thank you so much for your complements!  I have fun with the photo shoots.  If you had told me 5 years ago that I would agree to putting myself on display as I have with this website, I would have laughed my head off and called bologna!  But here I am, getting ready to share more pictures of myself.  It’s comments like yours that make me feel like I’m doing the right thing and that plus size women everywhere can look at me, and say, “If she can don it, then I can too!”   I really appreciate you reading and commenting on my article.  Best Wishes to you!  RhondaLeigh

I agree with a lot of the points in this article too and I think they apply to all, not just plus-sized fashion. Fashion is fashion for any size. One great example is holding on to an outdated outfit for sentimental reasons. This is silly, take a picture and make room in your closet for something you will actually use. Plus you have to have some great basics and accessories (like costume jewelry) to work with. It’s a matter of having a foundation and then being able to build on it. Nothing feels better than having nice clothes and feeling good wearing them so why would you buy clearance stuff if only because it’s cheap – we are worth it. Better to have a few good pieces and accessorize to have more good outfits.

It’s a mindset of knowing that we are worth having nice things and letting go of worn our or ‘mistakes’ we made in the past like pretty shoes that are awfully uncomfortable. I let go of a lot of shoes that hurt my feet and it was very liberating to let go of them. Instead I know have the basic black, brown, beige and so on in ‘wearable’ shoes and I keep shirks, dresses and pant suits that work with them and with my body’s shape.

We all fluctuate between a size or two so having clothes in the closet that don’t currently fit may be okay but if we are holding on to things that we fit into in high school (15 or more years ago) then we are wasting space since even if we got that small again, the fashions are different. Donate, donate and donate I say.

Hi Patricia, thank you for reading my article.   I am glad you agree with me on these points.  I especially like what you said about the shoes.  At some point, comfort trumps fashion and we let go of those things that are uncomfortable but pretty.   The point is to feel pretty and comfortable, so anything you have in our closet that makes you feel both is a bonus.  Thanks again for reading and commenting.  RhondaLeigh

Well, as for me, I think everybody have different taste for fashion and we shouldn’t really judge other people’s fashion sense based on our own fashion sense. I feel we should judge (if we need to) based on decency and colour combination. Whenever we wear clothings, we should consider our comfort, clothes combination and most times what our loved ones or close friends think about our dressings. What more can I say? I wouldn’t want to agree or disagree with Susie and even you because we all have our own opinions and the way we see things. Thanks.

I MrBiizy, good to hear from you again.  Thank you for disagreeing with me!  There are a few caveats to wearing what we want.  Sure we need to throw off the sillier rules for fashion, but we need to keep in mind the context of what we are dressing for.  I myself, must adhere to an office dress code.  My bosses rules aren’t fashion opinions, they are rules, and I will get into trouble if I buck them.  And I really do care about what my family thinks of my outfits, and would never wear something they hate on me.  But my family knows my style, and they are quick to point out if what I’m wearing fits with that style.  I respect their opinions, and they help me a lot.  So, yes, there are limits to wearing what you want.  After all, I would never wear a bikini to work, would I?  Thank you for pointing this out.  And thanks for reading and commenting as usual!  RhondaLeigh

great article and you have so right in the conclusion, do what the heck you want!!!!

There are so many soo called people out there that think they have the right ideas and sometimes you can get inspired by them but in the end, it is you who shall be comfortable in what you have both on the outside and as well on the inside.

    great article and great site

    all love to you

Hi Andreas!  Thank you so much for your thoughts.  Yes, we all need to do what the heck we want when it comes to fashion.  Comfort is the key!  Clothing should be one less thing we need to worry about, because heaven knows we have enough to keep us up at night.  So, wear what you want, and enjoy the freedom of being yourself!   Thanks for reading!  RhondaLeigh
